Pay Attention - Excerpts from "Roberts Rules!"

Pay Attention - Excerpts from "Roberts Rules!"

Every very successful person can name the project that made the difference in his or her life -- the make-it-or-break-it deal.  When you're getting into that kind of project, you've got to learn how to pay attention.  I mean full, total focus.  That's all you do.  That's all you think about.  That's your only goal.

Day and night, eat, sleep, and breathe your goal.  If you aren't willing to give this venture all your attention, time, and energy, it probably won't happen.

Staying focused is hard enough in the best of circumstances.  Throw in a collection of obstacles and the odd against success grow even higher.  In the hope that forewarned is forearmed, take a look at a few of the obstacles you can expect to run into and be ready for them.

Selling a Dream -- Excerpts from "Roberts Rules!"

Whether you're selling an idea or a specific product, or raising money for your company or trying to get people to attend a charity event, you need to develop  positive attitude and a razzle-dazzle approach that puts you out in front of the pack.

Marc Roberts, Miami

You have to identify exactly what you are selling.  I found a way to get people excited about something fun and unique.  That's the key .

You have to look beyond the mundane facts of your product or service and find something that people can get excited about, something they are willing to take a risk for.

Marc Roberts, Miami
Everyone has the power and talent to promote and sell something that is unique.  The tough part is getting in touch with that unique selling point.

Go For It! -- Excerpts from "Roberts Rules!"

Marc Roberts, Miami

When you go for it, you'll probably have to sacrifice something you have now:  maybe security, maybe income, maybe status.  This fact will push you in one of two ways.

     1)  You'll either be so nervous about this loss that you won't be able to get anything done, or

     2)  You'll be so determined to make up for the loss that nothing will stop you.

There's no place in the middle.  You have to pick a side.

Marc Roberts, Miami
What you lack in experience, make up for with an overload of motivation, dedication and ambition.

Learning the Ropes -- Excerpts from "Roberts Rules!"

Marc Roberts, Miami

When people tell you you're crazy, it's a good sign that you're on the right track.  When your competitors tell you you're no good and you're a failure, that means you're on to something big.

Once you decide to go for it, you've got to stay focused.  You've got to eat, breathe, and sleep whatever it is you're doing.
Marc Roberts, Miami

Along the way, Marc Roberts learned that sometimes no matter how hard you work, it's dumb luck that really makes the difference.  Sometimes, working with nothing more than common sense and a willingness to go for what you want with a whole lot of enthusiasm and energy, sets the course for a win.

Marc Roberts Miami

Marc Roberts Miami
Marc Roberts has settled his dispute with the owner of a BP gas station where the Zaha Hadid-designed One Thousand Museum is planned.
The lawsuit was prompted by a letter sent from Roberts warning that his 2007 contract to buy the property remained valid and that One Thousand Museum developers are closing on the land ‘at their own risk’. Court records show that the two sides are now asking a judge to have the suit dismissed.
1000 Biscayne Tower, LLC, can now proceed to close on the station. Terms of the contract call for closing to take place before September 10, at a price between $27 million and $60 million.

Miami Sports For January from Marc Roberts

Miami Sports in the Winter from Marc Roberts

Looks like all we have to deal with are the Miami Heat for a few months until the opening of Spring Training. But that also doesn't mean much with the state of the Miami baseball "team".  I personally am looking forward to a little college all star games, but not a lot coming out of the University of Miami this year.

There was a wikipedia page made awhile back for me, and the information has been pretty valid.  It is nice to have that done without any drama.  Here is an excerpt of the page:

Although I have created a few video channels, I have found that Vimeo is probably the best at getting out the videos on Google in the best way.  I have created a new channel there and am happy to share it with you at the new: Marc Roberts Miami Vimeo site.

A little bit about Vimeo:

In 2004, Vimeo was founded by a group of filmmakers who wanted to share their creative work and personal moments from their lives. As time went on, likeminded people discovered Vimeo and helped build a supportive community of individuals with a wide range of passions. Today, millions of people from all around the world enjoy Vimeo, and we’re growing bigger every day. We hope this fun and friendly environment fuels your own creativity and inspires you to contribute to Vimeo in the ways that mean the most to you.
